Another Community Hero - Our very own Molly Stoddard from The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center

Molly Stoddard, from The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, sharing the book A Stranger in the Woods.

A doe in kindergarten?  You never know what is going to happen on Fun Friday!

Visitors from the book.  We got to feel their feathers!

Hmmmm?  Why doesn't this bird migrate?

Snowshoe hare.  Can you guess what color he is in the summer?

Muskrat fur.  Is it as soft as snowshoe hare's fur?

Ask your child if this is an antler or a horn, and have him / her explain.    Who remembers what happened to the  deer's tine?  Someone was a bit hungry!

Blowing gently on the fur to discover the many colors hidden inside.  Can you remember some of them?

We all decided our classroom needs one of these!  We listened to  the call of the birds found in our story!

A deer's winter coat.  We found out each hair is HOLLOW so that the deer stays warm in the winter.

Each hair from this hide was this long!
