The Life Cycle of a Butterfly - Kindergarten Style

Our egg is getting ready to hatch!  Scientist call the egg an ovum.

The caterpillar emerges from the egg and begins munching and munching!

Our caterpillar is done munching and begins her next phase - the chrysalis.

Our caterpillar leaves the chrysalis as a butterfly not quite ready to fly.  Ask your kindergartner why.

Her wings are dry and are "un-crinkled".  She is ready to fly, and begins looking for food.
Ask your child how a butterfly tastes, smells, and eats.  You will be AMAZED!

Butterflies - ready to take flight!
